Ren&eacute, Ariza was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1940 and died in San Francisco, California, in 1994. In 1947 he won the UNEAC (Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba) for his work in theater, the back of the apple and a year later was a finalist in the competition of the House of the Americas with its theatrical piece The Banquet.
